Porto pay Benfica nearly €800,000 after Supreme Court Emails case ruling | OneFootball

According to Glorioso 1904, Benfica’s 2025/26 report confirms the club have received about €800,000 from Porto in the so-called Emails case, as ordered by the Supreme Court of Justice.

In February 2025 the Supreme Court of Justice upheld the Court of Appeal’s decision, condemning Futebol Clube do Porto, FC Porto – Futebol, SAD, FCP Media, Avenida dos Aliados and Francisco José Marques to pay €605,300 to Benfica, plus default interest.

The amount has since been settled in full. Including interest, Benfica SAD received €799,328.

The case centred on the publication of emails belonging to Benfica figures by Francisco J. Marques, then FC Porto’s communications director, through Porto’s club channel.

After the decision became definitive, Benfica have now seen the indemnity paid, more than a decade after the events that sparked the case, with the funds entering Benfica SAD’s accounts.
