Porto register Fábio Cardoso, but he's set for Sevilla move

The first update from Liga Portugal regarding the contracts received on this last day of the transfer window revealed that FC Porto has officially renewed Martim Fernandes's contract and proceeded with the registration of Fábio Cardoso. The 31-year-old central defender, as we have already reported, is currently being negotiated with Sevilla, from Spain; if the transfer goes through, the Dragons are expected to retain a share of the player's rights.

The decision to register Fábio Cardoso stems from a regulatory requirement – players under contract must be registered by their respective clubs in order to compete officially. Nevertheless, Porto's management remains firmly intent on finalizing the player's departure during this summer transfer window.
