Contrary to reports, Matteo Moretto reports that Augsburg have had a €10m offer rejected by Porto for Toni Martínez with the Portuguese side unwilling to let go of the Spaniard.
Augsburg had previously tried to sign Martinez in the summer, but Porto rejected their bid once again. Martinez is reportedly unhappy with his current situation at Porto as in the summer he was promised more minutes, but of late has only been used as a substitute. The former West Ham forward has a contract at Porto until 2025 and has scored 21 times in his 89 appearances for them.
But the German outfit is not the only team in the running for Martinez. Reportedly, Torino, Espanyol, Fiorentina and Cadiz are all interested in the 25-year-old.
Florian NIederlechner is set to leave Augsburg for Hertha Berlin in the summer and Mergim Berisha’s loan expires at the end of the season, so the addition of Martinez would provide a boost for Augsburg’s attack.
