Porto sign 27-year-old ex-Benfica futsal winger Tiago Correia | OneFootball

Porto have confirmed the signing of 27-year-old futsal winger Tiago Correia for a side set to compete in the national third tier this season.

He becomes the club’s third confirmed recruit for the new campaign after a spell in Polish futsal. Before joining Porto he played for Eurobus Przemysl, his first move outside Portugal.

Last season he featured in six matches, scoring in each, and helped the Polish team qualify for the championship play-offs.

Correia said he was delighted with the move, calling it the fulfilment of a dream, and added that he has supported Porto since childhood.

Much of his career was spent with Braga across seven seasons. He had earlier joined Benfica’s under-20s in 2016/2017 from Caxinas, did not break into the first team, then moved to Braga the following season.

Internationally he has not been capped by Portugal’s senior side, but made 11 appearances for the under-21s, scoring once against Czechia in a 2019 friendly.
