Portsmouth have completed the signing of Abu Kamara from Hull City, with John Mousinho still keen to strengthen his squad further.
The 23-year-old forward has signed a three-year deal at Fratton Park and becomes Pompey’s seventh signing of the summer.
Kamara returns to the south coast after playing a key role in Portsmouth’s League One title-winning campaign during the 2023/24 season.
“We’re thrilled to have Abu back at Pompey – it’s no secret that we’ve wanted him to return for some time,” Pompey boss Mousinho said.
“I don’t need to tell you all about what he can offer the side, as you already saw it during that memorable season when he was here on loan.
“Abu returns a more experienced player, with Championship and top-flight Spanish appearances under his belt.
“Now we’re looking forward to seeing what he can do at this level in a Pompey shirt and I’m excited to start working with him again.”
Kamara scored 10 goals and provided 11 assists in 52 appearances during his previous spell with Portsmouth, helping the club secure promotion to the Championship.
He returned to Norwich City at the end of that campaign before joining Hull.
Kamara’s arrival adds further attacking quality to Mousinho’s squad, but Pompey are not finished in the transfer market.
The Championship side are also believed to be closing in on deals for Chelsea youngster Ryan Kavuma-McQueen and Antalyaspor midfielder Jesper Ceesay.
