Pompey finished 16th in the table in their first year back in the division in 2025, and have ensured their safety ahead of the final round of fixtures in this campaign as well.

The club will be hoping to strengthen in the summer as they look to climb the second tier table over the next 12 months.

However, speculation has mounted on the future of the head coach, who has been linked with a potential move to Bristol City.

It could be a busy few months ahead at Fratton Park, with the summer transfer window offering a chance to make improvements to the first team squad.

However, the club will also be at risk of losing key players, with one in particular now attracting a lot of interest.

It has been reported by The News that Adrian Segecic is attracting a lot of interest ahead of the summer market.

It’s believed that clubs in the Premier League and the Championship are growing increasingly keen on the 21-year-old following his impressive recent form.

The 21-year-old is in his first season at Fratton Park after joining last summer from A-League side Sydney FC.

He has enjoyed a strong first year in English football, contributing nine goals and four assists from 37 league appearances.

It’s understood that his goal scoring form has also led to interest from clubs on the continent, with uncertainty now surrounding his future.

Segecic has a contract with Portsmouth until June 2028, giving Pompey some leverage in any upcoming transfer negotiations.

Mousinho has given his response to potential transfer interest in his players, suggesting that he is flattered by the attention.

He believes it’s a sign of the good work being done at the club, but he refused to outline any potential stance on whether a sale could be on the cards.

“When I speak about players and players getting interest from other clubs I always see it as a positive,” said Mousinho to The News.

“I’ve always said it’s quite flattering when Terry Devlin gets linked somewhere, there’s some interest for Segs, there’s some interest for Murph - it means we’re doing something right.

“I guess it’s quite a nice thing in the media to have that interest.”

Portsmouth will go into the weekend 18th in the Championship table, seven points clear of the relegation zone.

Mousinho’s side could rise as high as 15th, although their inferior goal difference means that 17th is their most likely best possible result for the final weekend of the campaign.

Pompey finished 16th last year, but earned 54 points, which is the same as their current tally.

The Hampshire outfit will face Birmingham City at home on Saturday in a 12.30pm kick-off to cap off the term.

Adrian Segecic interest will come as no surprise to Portsmouth

Portsmouth have utilised the Australian football market in recent years, and Segecic has been quite the success story.

He’s made a smooth transition to the Championship, and his form in recent weeks has been quite impressive, highlighting the potential he possesses at the age of just 21.

The youngster’s hat-trick against Stoke City in their 3-1 was particularly impressive, and this is what attracts attention from top flight clubs.

Portsmouth will be hoping to hold onto him given his goal scoring feats, but a sale at an eight-figure value could prove difficult to turn down this summer.
