The Seleção opened the scoring early on through Renato Veiga before Armenia levelled in a nervy opening 20 minutes.

However, the moments of worry didn't last long as Portugal hit back to go 5-1 up at half time.
Key to the hosts' turnaround was João Neves, who scored his first national team goal and struck a wonderful free-kick from distance before the break.

Portugal had to win against Armenia to secure their spot at the 2026 World Cup and they are well on their way to achieving that feat.
