Portugal’s transfer window runs until 4 September, but UEFA registration for the league phase closes on Wednesday at 22:59 Portuguese time, so clubs must move fast if they want reinforcements eligible from the start. That affects FC Porto and Sporting in the Champions League, Benfica and Torreense in the Europa League, and Braga in the Conference League.

According to O Jogo, while the market remains open, there is an added nuance: until 8, Tuesday, clubs in Portugal can register on-loan players who are under-23 and trained by the lending club.

In England, Spain, France, Italy and Germany, the summer window shuts on 1 September, tomorrow.

Elsewhere, Türkiye follows Portugal’s timetable. Saudi Arabia’s window stays open until 12, and Greece until 15.

Clubs working on deals therefore need to accelerate talks if they want newcomers on UEFA lists for the league phase.
