Prospective Morecambe FC buyers Panjab Warriors are said to be ready to complete the purchase of the club with the National League ready to sanction the deal.

The sports investment firm has been trying to purchase the club from Jason Whittingham's Bond Group Investments.

Whittingham claimed last Sunday that he had not heard from the company despite 'willingness to complete' the deal with the Bond Group instead working with a consortium led by Jonny Cato on the sale instead.

Now Panjab Warriors, fan group The Shrimps Trust, and Morecambe and Lunesdale MP Lizzi Collinge have put out a joint statement stating that Panjab Warriors are 'ready, willing and able to proceed with the purchase immediately' which includes funds to pay outstanding wages and immediate liabilities.

Haste is important to any purchase of Morecambe with the club having been suspended by the National League until mid-August.

Indeed, the governing body is mentioned in the statement as willing to lift the suspension and transfer embargo on the club should the deal be sanctioned immediately.
