Potter in, but no space for Toone or Kelly in Wiegman's Lionesses squad | OneFootball

Sarina Wiegman has named her England squad for the upcoming World Cup play-off double-header with Greece.

After finishing second behind Spain in their qualification group, England will now have to first get past Greece before then taking on the winner of Slovakia v Ukraine to ensure their spot at the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup in Brazil.

The big news is the inclusion of Lexi Potter who earns her first call-up to the senior squad. The 20-year-old Chelsea midfielder has had an impressive start to the 2026/27 campaign.

Liverpool defender Grace Fisk is also included and could at long last earn her first cap after missing out on game time in her previous call-ups.

There are two big names not included in Arsenal winger Chloe Kelly and Manchester United midfielder Ella Toone, who has yet to settle into a regular role under new manager Eva Olid.

England begin the international break away to Greece for the first leg that will be played in Crete on October 9th before the second leg at the King Power Stadium on October 13th.
