As club football prepares to return our weekly Power Rankings are back. Every week we produce a rolling tier of the ten best teams in Europe based on their recent performances.
Europeâs top leagues are beginning to heat up and our Power Rankings list the most in-form teams from the seasonâs opening weeks. At this stage of the season, just one bad result is enough to lose your place on the list.
So far, so good for Juventus, with maximum points in Serie A and a defence thatâs yet to be breached. Igor Tudor has recognised â and fixed â some of the issues predecessor Thiago Motta struggled with and the Bianconeri look a more reliable unit. Dusan Vlahovic has scored in both games, despite spending the summer linked with an exit.
Porto are bidding for a first Primeira Liga title in four years this season, after finishing a distant third in Portugalâs often three-horse race.
With rivals Sporting and Benfica losing key figures in the summer, Porto are hopeful of clawing back the gap. Itâs four wins from four for Francesco Farioliâs side, who won at champions Sporting before the break.
After a disappointing campaign last term, Feyenoord are the early Eredivisie leaders. Robin van Persieâs side have maximum points after three games, including a 4-0 derby thrashing of Sparta Rotterdam last time out.
Antonio Conte is bidding to lead Napoli to consecutive Serie A titles and the defending champions are the favourites to retain their crown.
Napoli have started the season with successive wins and clean sheets, to lead the Scudetto chase from Juventus and surprise package Cremonense.
Turkish football is enjoying a boom right now with high-profile additions to the SĂźper Lig. Galatasaray made Victor Osimhenâs move to Istanbul permanent this summer, in addition to the coup of luring Leroy Sane from Bayern Munich.
The champions have eased to the top of the table, winning four straight games. With 13 goals scored and just one conceded, Gala will be tough to stop.
Athletic Bilbao have matched La Liga leaders Real Madrid stride for stride so far this season. The Basque outfit have a perfect record after three games, after beating fellow European contenders Real Betis 2-1 on the road.
Liverpool are back in our Power Rankings for the first time this season. The Premier League champions were regulars last season, but an unconvincing â if winning â start to the season saw them miss out on the list last time out.
However, a 1-0 win over Arsenal, courtesy of Dominik Szoboszlaiâs free-kick, catapults the Reds into our Power Rankings.
Top of the Premier League table despite not being at their best, and with Alexander Isak to introduce into the side. Things are looking rosy for Arne Slotâs side.
Bayern Munich were Germanyâs best last season and early indications are that that has not changed. Vincent Kompanyâs side have won all three league games this season and progressed in the DFB-Pokal.
There have been chinks in the armour of late, conceding twice to both Wehen Wiesbaden and Augsburg, but Bayernâs firepower has got them over the line.
So far, so good for Xabi Alonso.
Real Madrid lead La Liga after three wins on the bounce, with the Spaniardâs flexible formation and possession-dominant demands bearing fruit. A comeback win against Mallorca has taken them to the top of the La Liga table, two points ahead of champions Barcelona.
Crucially, Kylian Mbappe has picked up where he left off last season. Three goals in three games is an encouraging return for the French superstar.
After opening the season with two narrow 1-0 wins, Paris Saint-Germain went to Toulouse and hit their opponents for six. An enthralling game ended 6-3 to the visitors, with Joao Neves scoring one of the best hat-tricks you will ever see.
Luis Enriqueâs side are almost certain to storm to Ligue 1 success again. The real challenge will be whether PSG can become just the second team to go back-to-back in Europe in the Champions League era.
