Athletic trained at Lezama as they prepare to face Atlético at San Mamés on Saturday, with Beñat Prados back and youngster Selton Sánchez stepping up to cover Peio Canales. As reported by as.com, both developments emerged during an open session.
The group was lighter after recent departures, with Gorosabel at Espanyol, Vencedor at Burgos and Adama Boiro at West Ham.
Dani Vivian remains sidelined and has yet to feature this season.
Prados worked with the squad while managing a muscle issue, at least through the first 15 minutes open to the media. The Navarrese is stepping in for Canales, who has a moderate muscle injury in his left soleus.
Selton Sánchez, who plays the same role as the Barrika-born Canales, is being assessed on the pitch by Terzic. The Basauri midfielder has featured for Bilbao Athletic at the start of the Primera Federación season. Monreal also trained with the seniors to bolster the central area.
Laporte and Berenguer trained after being managed on Tuesday. Winger Álvaro Djaló remains outside group work as he is unwell.
