Pre-match thoughts: Jaka Bijol | OneFootball

With kick off at the City Ground just around the corner in today’s Premier League opener, defender Jaka Bijol is thrilled at the prospect of competitive football returning.

Ahead of starting in a back three alongside fellow defenders Joe Rodon and new arrival Tarik Muharemović, the Slovenia international spoke to LUTV on his arrival at the stadium.

“We have been waiting for this all summer now so, yeah, I think we are ready to go again. I think we should be happy with the work we have done.

“But it all starts today. We have to perform on the pitch and that is all that matters at the end of the day. I think we did our best in pre-season.

“Everyone gave our all in the training and to be ready for the season ahead. But like I said, we have to show it today.

“It is going to be a really tough game. At home, especially, I think they are a really good team. They have shown many times last season as well.

“We had a tough game last season here as well so we know what to expect. It is going to be a hard duel today.”
