Pre-season round-up: Torino edge Burnley, Parma held by Iraklis | OneFootball

Torino continued their perfect pre-season with a narrow victory in England, while Parma were pegged back at home, as two more Serie A sides put the finishing touches to their preparations for the new campaign on Saturday.

As recalled by Tuttosport, Ignazio Abate’s Torino won 1-0 at Burnley’s Turf Moor, a third straight single-goal friendly success. The decisive moment came on 18 minutes, when Njie burst into the box and squared for Dembélé to tap home.

The Granata weathered early pressure from the hosts, relegated from the Premier League last season, to see out another tight win, with Abate handing minutes to several new arrivals.

Parma pegged back by Iraklis Salonica

Parma, meanwhile, drew 1-1 with Walter Mazzarri’s Iraklis Salonica in their fourth friendly of the summer.

After a subdued first half, the Greek side edged ahead through Koljic just past the hour, before substitute Mikolajewski levelled on 75 minutes, holding off his marker to finish low across goal after Kouda’s through ball.

Carlos Cuesta’s side pressed for a winner but settled for a draw, the Spaniard still fine-tuning his attacking play. Goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, the subject of reported PSG and Juventus interest, was named among the substitutes.
