Bayer Leverkusen will look to take a step towards securing UEFA Champions League Round of 16 qualification when they play Olympiacos in Greece on Wednesday night.
Die Werkself’s last defeat came against the Greek opposition back on January 20, but Kasper Hjulmand’s charges have won five and drawn one of their six games since.
Possessing a near full strength squad, the Dane has plenty of options but it’s entirely possible that Leverkusen could name the same line-up that beat St. Pauli 4-0 at the weekend as Bayer look for consistency heading into the business end of the season.
Goals are well shared around the Leverkusen squad with Patrik Schick on 11 goals in 27 appearances in all competitions this season, followed by Alejandro Grimaldo (11 in 29) and Ernest Poku (6 in 34) – the trio are all expected to start against Olympiacos.
Janis Blaswich – Jarell Quansah, Robert Andrich, Edmond Tapsoba – Aleix Garcia, Exequiel Palacios – Lucas Vazquez, Ibrahim Maza, Alejandro Grimaldo, Ernest Poku – Patrik Schick.
Subs: Lomb, Omlin, Arthur, Badé, Oermann, Tape, Culbreath, Fernandez, Hofmann, Mensah, Tillman, Kofane, Terrier
