Bayer Leverkusen host Hertha Berlin at the BayArena on Sunday afternoon as Xabi Alonso’s side look to pick up what would be just their second win in six Bundesliga games.
Both Jonathan Tah and Piero Hincapié served a one-game suspension against Freiburg after accumulating five yellow cards but should return in a back three against Hertha Berlin.
Florian Wirtz was also rested to manage the youngster’s workload after returning from injury. He is expected to play alongside Moussa Diaby and Sardar Azmoun in a front three. This means Adam Hlozek is expected to drop to the bench and will be joined by compatriot Patrik Schick.
A win for Bayer Leverkusen would see them climb above Borussia Mönchengladbach into ninth. Alonso also has several options alongside Hlozek and Schick on the bench with Kerem Demirbay, Amine Adli and Nadiem Amiri. Charles Aránguiz continues to struggle with calf problems.
Lukas Hradecky – Edmond Tapsoba, Jonathan Tah, Piero Hincapié – Jeremie Frimpong, Robert Andrich, Exequiel Palacios, Mitchel Bakker – Moussa Diaby, Florian Wirtz, Sardar Azmoun.
