Southampton must approach every game with an eye on picking up points. Unfortunately, this is simply the reality of being bottom of the table. While it definitely isn't realistic to pick up points in each game, this must be the aim - and the Saints must march right towards that aim until the final whistle.
Heading into this match, Russell Martin confirmed that both Paul Onuachu and Jan Bednarek are available. This is a huge boost for the Saints as it gives Martin an opportunity to push on.
Today's visitors, on the other hand, will be without nine players. Yes, you are reading that right - nine players missing for Spurs.
GK - Alex Lumley. We all know that Ramsdale loves a game against Spurs, for obvious reasons. However, he is out injured, so it will be Lumley who keeps his place between the sticks.
CB - Jan Bednarek. Jack Stephens is suspended but there's an immediate upgrade here, with fellow stalwart defender back in action. It's great to have Jan back!
CB - Taylor Harwood-Bellis. He's due a big performance, but so are most players in this team if we're being frank. Either way, Harwood-Bellis will have our full support as he deservedly keeps his place.
CB - Nathan Wood. Started the last two Premier League games for Southampton and he will start this one too.
RWB - Kyle Walker-Peters. One of Southampton's best players this season. In my opinion, he's one of the few Premier League quality players in this team. Of course, this game will mean a lot to KWP, as Spurs are his old club.
CM - Mateus Fernandes. Another diamond in the rough for Southampton. Fernandes will be eager to prove himself against yet another big team.
CM - Flynn Downes. Considering his former West Ham connection, Downes might be more motivated to beat Spurs. He'll certainly keep his spot in the centre of the park.
CM - Tyler Dibling. Some strong comments were made by Russell Martin in midweek. He has every intention of keeping Dibling for the long-term future.
LWB - Ryan Manning. Played 90 minutes last week but was subbed for more attacking spark. He'll definitely be needed to deal with the Spurs attack.
ST - Adam Armstrong. Armstrong should keep his place in the Saints attack. We can only hope he isn't starved of chances up there.
