Tottenham Hotspur travel to Germany to take on Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League at Deutsche Bank Park on Wednesday night.

They head into this fixture as heavy favourites, considering tonight’s opponents have squandered any chance of progressing past the league phase.

A disappointing 2-2 Premier League draw against relegation-threatened Burnley last weekend stretched Tottenham’s Premier League winless streak to five consecutive games.

They needed a dramatic late goal from Cristian Romero to snatch a point from the Clarets. That result hardly reinforced confidence in manager Thomas Frank, who is under increasing pressure.

Tottenham’s upcoming fixtures offer little comfort. Spurs are scheduled to face Manchester City, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Arsenal in their next four league games.

That fixture schedule could define Frank’s fate, but tonight’s Champions League encounter could be decisive depending on the result.

Luckily for Frank, Tottenham have found it easier to navigate their European duties, winning three of their last four Champions League games.

They sit fifth in the standings, and a win would secure their place in the top eight.

How Tottenham could line up

Frank could make three changes from the stalemate against Burnley, although Guglielmo Vicarion is expected to remain in goal.

Kevin Danso could make way after his “sloppy” 5/10 performance against Burnley, with Frank returning to a familiar backline of Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Destiny Udogie.

Archie Gray and Pape Matar Sarr should anchor the midfield while Wilson Odobert, Xavi Simons and Djed Spence play supporting roles behind striker Dominic Solanke.
