Chelsea face a serious of monster games between now and the end of the season. Lose any of them and the Champions League battle is over.

Tonight’s match against Aston Villa provides a superb chance to bounce back from 3 horrible games in a row. Liam Rosenior has some huge lineup decisions to make.

Rosenior’s Villa team almost picks itself

In many ways, the team picks itself in most areas.

Robert Sanchez will start in goal, despite his shaky showing against Arsenal.

Reece James won’t always be able to start twice in a matter of days, but this one is too big to miss. Trevoh Chalobah will stay in the middle of defence, with Wesley Fofana returning from suspension to play alongside him.

Marc Cucurella is back in training, but we just get the sense he might not be risked after his hamstring injury yet, so Jorrel Hato could continue on the left.

In midfield, Moises Caicedo and Andrey Santos have been solid and should continue. Ahead of them, there aren’t many options, with Estevao and Jamie Gittens out and Pedro Neto suspended. We suspect we could see Enzo Fernandez in the 10, with Cole Palmer and Alejandro Garnacho flanking him.

Joao Pedro will lead the line.

In other news…

Reece James is in talks over a new contract, and there’s an obvious solution to get a deal done.

Liam Rosenior noted that Alejandro Garnacho gets a lot of abuse from opposition fans, and speculated that it was because of his “threat” as a player.
