The quartet are said to want a wider consultation than Infantino has floated so far, as he seeks to keep his job. The report does not flag a clear call for his resignation.

Resistance to Infantino has grown in recent weeks after widespread rejection of his plan to privatise FIFA.

He is already under pressure from several federations and confederations, notably UEFA and Concacaf, with the Asian confederation also joining more recently.
