This Thursday, the Premier League revealed the shortlist of eight contenders for the 2025 EA Sports Player of the Month for August. The nominees are Riccardo Calafiori (Arsenal), Jack Grealish (Everton), Marc Guehi (Crystal Palace), Erling Haaland (Manchester City), João Pedro (Chelsea), Antoine Semenyo (Bournemouth), Hugo Ekitike (Liverpool), and Dominique Szoboszlai (Liverpool).

Frenchman Hugo Ekitike is seen as the frontrunner to claim the prize. In what was his debut month in the English top flight, he found the back of the net and provided an assist against Bournemouth, before scoring again versus Newcastle.
