Our Premier League Awards honour the best – and worst – of the weekend’s action.

Moment of the Week

Arsenal left it late to rescue a result against Manchester City this weekend, scoring a stoppage-time leveller to earn a point at the Emirates. The North Londoners had dominated the ball all afternoon, but were unable to break down a City side uncharacteristically happy to sit in and defend.

Enter, Gabriel Martinelli, who for the second time in a week turned a game from the bench. The Brazilian has been ousted from the side following Arsenal’s summer signing, but delivered when it mattered most late on.

Racing onto an inch-perfect pass from Eberechi Eze, Martinelli lifted a brilliant finish over Gianluigi Donnarumma to ensure Arsenal avoided defeat. Though the Gunners still have ground to make up in the title race, it could prove to be a massive point in their season.

Player of the Week

Ryan Gravenberch just keeps on getting better. Arne Slot transformed the previously underperforming midfielder last season and the Dutchman is now one of the first names on the Liverpool teamsheet.

Gravenberch has started the season in superb form and followed standout showings against Burnley and Atletico Madrid with another in the Merseyside Derby. He opened the scoring with an exceptional finish after powering into the box, before sliding in Hugo Ekitike for the second as Liverpool made a rapid start.

Gravenberch can do it all and, so far this season, is just doing that. He’s dominated defensive duels, bypassing pressure with fluid ease, and now adding goals to his game. Still just 23, the midfielder is emerging as one of Europe’s best number sixes.

Goal of the Week

Keeper’s side? No problem. Anton Stach cemented his growing status as a crowd favourite at Leeds United with this fantastic free-kick at Wolves.

Stat of the Week

Eddie Howe just can’t get one over his former club. A torrid record against old employers Bournemouth continued this weekend.

Quote of the Week

Everton were far from happy with the officiating during Saturday’s Merseyside Derby defeat at Liverpool. A baffling decision to caution Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall after a quick free-kick puzzled the visitors, while David Moyes discussed his frustration with the limited added time.

A week to forget for…

Chelsea got off to a nightmare start at Manchester United after Robert Sanchez was sent off inside five minutes. The Spaniard’s rash challenge on Bryan Mbeumo ended in a red card, the third-earliest a goalkeeper has ever been sent off in the Premier League.

Though Casemiro later levelled the playing field, United were already 2-0 ahead by that point. Sanchez’s senseless decision cost Chelsea dearly.
