Real Madrid face a pivotal summer that could hinge on Vinicius Junior’s contract situation, with the 25-year-old nearing the final 12 months of his deal and no renewal yet agreed.
Talks were held in 2025 but the gap between the club and the forward’s camp was significant. A pause was set until this summer, when negotiations are due to resume. TEAMtalk reports that intermediaries have contacted Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City over a possible move.
Madrid are not minded to let him reach 2027 as a free agent, so a sale could be explored in the off-season if no agreement is found.
Even so, there is calm at Valdebebas. The hierarchy are prioritising a new deal for the Brazilian, and there is little doubt internally that progress will come once talks restart.
Recent weeks have underlined Vinicius’s importance. After a slow start, he stepped up between January and March in the absence of the injured Kylian Mbappe, again showing why he is among the game’s elite and heavily relied upon at the Bernabeu.
A departure is considered a small possibility, with the Premier League viewed as a likely landing spot if it happens. For now, remaining in Madrid appears the likelier outcome.
