Mateo Pellegrino has become one of the form strikers in Italy, and England is taking notice. According to Superdeporte, Premier League clubs are already monitoring the Valencia-born 23-year-old.
He has 10 goals this season, seven in the league and three in the cup. Almost two metres tall, he dominates in the air and exudes inevitability whenever crosses arrive.
A classic reference point, he hurts teams with few touches. He thrives on deliveries, second balls and defensive errors. His heading is his hallmark, and he also pins centre-backs, links play and attacks the near post with aggression.
That profile suits the Premier League, where tempo and wing play still matter. Scouts from several leading clubs have tracked him in recent weeks, and if interest hardens, a transfer could reach significant figures.
Big Italian sides are following him too, aware that reliable penalty-box forwards are scarce and his trajectory is rising.
Born in Valencia while his father, former defender Mauricio Pellegrino, played for Valencia, he is eligible for Spain. La Roja have long sought a finisher for tight games, and Samu Omorodion’s recent injury has sharpened the debate.
His camp remain calm, but market forces are ruthless. If he sustains his strike rate and delivers in the run-in, the summer could bring major movement.
