The Premier League has confirmed which game has been chosen to be played on Boxing Day, with Manchester United set to host Newcastle United.

Boxing Day is a proud tradition in football and the stripped-down fixture list has had criticism from fans – especially those relying on a day of football to nurse a Christmas hangover.

Fans will have to wait until 8 pm to watch any Premier League football as the Red Devils host the Magpies.

The game will be a repeat of one of 2019's Boxing Day fixtures. That day, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Man Utd defeated Steve Bruce's Newcastle with Anthony Martial at the double while Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford also netted after Matty Longstaff had put the visitors ahead. It's safe to say that a lot has changed for both teams since then.

Meanwhile, the other top flight games from that matchweek, a round that includes Chelsea v Aston Villa, Arsenal v Brighton, and Liverpool v Wolves.
