Following the collapse of Nico Williams’ transfer from Athletic Club, FC Barcelona are back on the lookout for a new left-winger.

Luis Diaz of Liverpool has emerged as the priority target for the Blaugrana, but his transfer fee and the competition from Bayern Munich make the deal difficult.

Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford of Manchester United remains on the agenda, although it appears that his option is fading.

Rashford does not generate full consensus

Indeed, according to journalist Adrian Sanchez, Rashford does not generate total consensus among the Barcelona sporting staff at the moment.

The 27-year-old attacker is likely the most feasible attacking target for Barça as he is out of favour at Manchester United and could end up being available for loan with a purchase option.

It is also no secret that the England attacker is desperate to sign for the La Liga champions and is even prepared to reduce his salary to make the move happen.

However, as things stand, Rashford simply does not generate full consensus at Barcelona, which is not surprising considering that his form has been up and down for quite some time now.

But Rashford did show positive signs during his six-month loan stint at Aston Villa, managing four goals and six assists in 17 matches.

So, it remains to be seen whether Barcelona do decide to go after the Manchester United outcast or continue to explore other alternatives, with names like Rafael Leao and Ademola Lookman also on the radar.
