Speaking at a pre-match press conference ahead of Sunday's showdown against Arsenal at Old Trafford, Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim provided an update on his squad.

The Portuguese tactician confirmed that Noussair Mazraoui will be absent for the Red Devils' home fixture against the Gunners in the opening round of the Premier League 2025-2026 season.

"Noussair [Mazraoui] and Licha [Lisandro Martinez] are out and won’t be available for this match," said the former Sporting CP coach, in contrast to Joshua Zirkzee and André Onana, who have recovered and "are in contention for a spot in the matchday squad."

The Moroccan full-back is sidelined with an injury and will have to wait a bit longer to make his season debut. In his first campaign with the Red Devils, the former Bayern man featured in 57 matches, providing 3 assists.
