The Premier League officially announced on Tuesday the nominees for Player of the Week in Round 6 following dramatic weekend that was the first defeat for league leader Liverpool this season.

Nominees for Player of the Week

  • Emi Buendia (Aston Villa): Came off the bench, delivered assist & scored his 1st league goal since March 2023.
  • Erling Haaland (Man City): Two late goals and assist in City’s 5 - 1 demolition of Burnley.
  • Daichi Kamada (Crystal Palace): Assisted the opener & controlled midfield as Palace shocked Liverpool.
  • Sean Longstaff (Leeds): Scored & assisted in the 2 - 2 draw with Bournemouth.
  • Declan Rice (Arsenal): Key figure in the Gunners' dramatic comeback at Newcastle.
  • Robin Roefs (Sunderland): Six decisive saves in the club's first away win this season.
  • Igor Thiago (Brentford): Brace in Brentford’s stunning 3 - 1 win over Man United.
  • Danny Welbeck (Brighton): Headed the equaliser and netted stoppage time winner against Chelsea.

Tottenham lead with three awards across the first five rounds. Liverpool follow with two, while no other club has yet claimed the honour.
