Gonzalo isn’t the only Real Madrid player that Arbeloa wants to coach at Fulham, and according to TEAMtalk, talks are progressing over a double deal involving Cesar Palacios. The young midfielder is much more of a guarantee to leave this summer due to him not featuring in Mourinho’s plans for the upcoming season, and he could end up in the Premier League alongside familiar faces.

More clubs prepared to move for both players

Real Madrid would welcome selling Gonzalo and Palacios to Fulham, knowing that Arbeloa would be a good manager for their respective developments. However, the Premier League side are facing significant competition for both players, with Borussia Dortmund, Fenerbahce and Como having been mentioned as interested parties in the report.

In Gonzalo’s case, Fulham are considered to be favourites to sign him ahead of Dortmund and Fenerbahce, and the player himself would welcome the opportunity to be a regular starter elsewhere, knowing that he would be second-fiddle to Kylian Mbappe at Real Madrid. The situation with Palacios will be more of a concern for the Londoners, with Como having him as one of their priority targets for the remaining weeks of the summer transfer window.

Real Madrid will undoubtedly look to secure agreements that see them retain control over the future of both players, as they have done with many La Fabrica talents that have left in recent years. But for now, it remains to be seen where both players end up – whether that be at the Bernabeu or somewhere else in Europe.
