Barcelona want to sign Robert Lewandowski’s successor as soon as possible, with a move currently being planned. At this stage, they are looking to the Premier League for the player they want.

In recent months, Barcelona have been linked with several top-level strikers, including the likes of Viktor Gyokeres and Erling Haaland. However, it is Alexander Isak that is liked the most by club bosses, as reported by MD.

Isak has been in sensational form for Newcastle United over the last couple of months, and he recently scooped the Premier League Player of the Month award for December, having netted in all seven appearances during the month.

Barcelona would love to make a move for Isak this month, although they recognise that this would be almost impossible due to their financial woes. Instead, it is likely that an approach will be made in the summer, and given that the Catalan club are back inside La Liga’s 1:1 rule, there is a better chance of a deal being pulled off.
