Man City and West Ham dominate our Premier League Team of the Weekend after another engrossing round of matches in the top flight.
Another top display from Robin Roefs, who made seven saves to ensure Sunderland kept a clean sheet to beat Spurs 1-0 at the Stadium of Light.
Two goals and a clean sheet for Mats Wieffer as Brighton beat Burnley 2-0 to maintain the Seagulls’ push for Europe. Not a bad day’s work.
A huge Friday night for West Ham saw them batter Wolves 4-0 at home and move out of the drop zone. Konstantinos Mavropanos scored half of the Hammers’ goals and helped keep a clean sheet at the other end.
A massive win for Manchester City was built from the back. Marc Guehi put in a huge shift against Chelsea, winning the Man of the Match award after having the most touches, passes, line breaking passes and interceptions.
The centre-back also doubled his side’s lead in the second half with a lovely finish for his first Premier League goal since joining the club.
Nico O’Reilly continues to be City’s best left-back and one of their best attackers, netting his fifth goal of the season on Sunday. The only blot on a great day for the youngster was that he had to come off in the second half with a possible injury.
It’s not everyday you score the winning goal at the league leaders. Bournemouth put in a terrific team effort on Saturday to best Arsenal, but it was Alex Scott who got the glory with a well finished winner in north London. The 22-year-old was an industrious presence in midfield too, making a massive 13 defensive contributions.
What a delight it is to watch Rayan Cherki in the Premier League. The France international reached double digits for assists this season after setting up a couple of goals against Chelsea. A lovely cross found O’Reilly for the opener, but his pass for Guehi’s goal was sublime.
Jarrod Bowen’s fingerprints were all over West Ham’s win over Wolves as he was involved in three of their four goals. His perfect cross found the head of Mavropanos for the opener before later setting up Taty Castellanos for his second assist of the night. His corner also led to Mavropanos’ second goal following an attempted clearance.
The 29-year-old almost scored too, charging forward before unleashing a strike from the edge of the area that clipped the outside of the post.
What a day that was for young Rio Ngumoha. After being handed a surprise start against Fulham, the 17-year-old gave Liverpool the shot in the arm they desperately needed.
The winger had Anfield on their feet when he cut inside from the left and sent a superb shot into the far side of the net. He was then involved in the lead up to Mo Salah’s wonderful goal, switching the play to set it in motion.

Castellanos doubled his tally of goals for West Ham in one game as he grabbed a brace against Wolves. No player took more shots (5) or had more shots on target (3), while only four players generate more expected goals than him (1.14xG).
This was a tight call between Igor Thiago and Jean-Philippe Mateta. Both men scored a brace, each striker scoring one of their two goals from the penalty spot. But the nature of Mateta’s influence on Crystal Palace’s win over Newcastle United takes the biscuit.
The 28-year-old has barely played the last two months, having just recovered from an injury that was flagged following a medical with AC Milan in the winter window, which scuppered a dream move to the San Siro. But he flipped the game on its head, inspiring a 2-1 comeback win at Selhurst Park.
