Sunderland continue to impress, a North-East derby victory and a hard-earned point at Brighton the latest notches on their belt. Yet, with so many players away at AFCON and Luke O'Nien serving out his suspension it would not be unreasonable to expect some drop-off over the festive period.With that in mind, the visitors are well worth considering at 9/5

As too is Dominic Calvert-Lewin to bag for a sixth consecutive game, a feat he has never managed before in his career. The striker is 5/2 to convert at the Stadium of Light and it's worth noting he has only played once before against the Black Cats. He scored a brace.

Naturally, Calvert-Lewin's prolificacy has been accompanied by a sharp spike in shots undertaken but for attempts on goal it's his team-mate Anton Stach who most grabs the attention.

The German midfielder has ventured an effort every 27 minutes across his last four outings, scoring twice. In his team's last away fixture he took on six attempts, the most of any Leeds player this term.

Canny Gabriel

Only Aston Villa and Chelsea have drawn more fouls than Leeds this season and, since joining from Lille in the summer, Gabriel Gudmundsson has proven himself cannier than most at the artform.

On 27 occasions in the league the Swede has won his side a free-kick, a figure boosted by nine fouls drawn in a recent trio of games.

This Sunday the marauding left-back is in direct competition with Nordi Mukiele who has committed multiple fouls in three of his last six starts.

Kudus to fall foul

Only four teams have committed more fouls than Spurs in 2025/26 and one of their most consistent offenders appeals here, specifically because Thomas Frank's men are venturing beyond North London.

Mohammed Kudus has erred on 23 occasions in the Premier League which averages out at 1.53 per 90. That alone is a tally we can get behind.

It gets all-the-more tempting though when we acknowledge that his multiples almost exclusively come on the road. A fortnight ago he committed a trio of fouls at the City Ground. There was a further three committed at Elland Road and four at the Amex.

The Ghanaian winger is 9/2 to be cautioned but he has avoided the book for six games running now. Far better to back a trip or three.

Mateta to strike first

The Palace frontman has scored in five league matches this season, converting first in four of them. Oddly, the only game when he didn't open the opening was against Bournemouth, when he bagged a hat-trick.

The 28-year-old also fired the only goal in this exact fixture last term.

What additionally draws us to the French star is his strike-rate at Selhurst Park, finding the back of the net 23 times in his last 31 league starts.

Festive bet builder

For the Boxing Day fixtures - that extends to games played on the 27th and 28th - Betfair are offering up money back as a free bet if your multi loses.

As for cards, the Black Cats are fancied to receive the most bookings, especially as they tend to up the intensity on home turf.

Regis Le Bris' men have picked up just 1.7 yellows per 90 away from Wearside but 2.8 per 90 when roared on by their noisy faithful.

Lastly, there has been a recent spike in corners won by the hosts that should not go under the radar. In their last six fixtures, the Mackems have won 4.1 per 90 compared to 2.6 in their six games prior.
