Brighton v Liverpool: Reds to falter on south coast

Liverpool produced arguably their best performance of the season to overturn their first leg Champions League deficit against Galatasaray in midweek. Arne Slot's side played with confidence and intensity, firing off 32 attempts at goal and landing 16 shots on-target as they fed off the Anfield atmosphere.

However, I'm happy to oppose the Reds at 2.30 on the Berfair Exchange for Saturday's early kick-off at Brighton. The Merseysiders face a quick turnaround and have been far from reliable on the road, failing to succeed in nine of 15 away Premier League games, including eight of 10 when facing sides outside of the bottom-five.

Brighton are W3-D2-L2 in their past seven hosting Liverpool at The Amex, scoring at least twice in each of their most recent five. The Seagulls have tabled three triumphs in four coming into this clash and have suffered just six league losses in 34 under Fabian Hurzeler's charge. Brighton are available at 1.75 with a +0.5 Asian Handicap start here.

Fulham v Burnley: Cottagers to clinch top honours

Fulham have endured a difficult fortnight. The Cottagers have failed to score in three and were dumped out of the FA Cup in the last two weeks. However, Marco Silva's men have a great opportunity to bounce back to winning ways and rejoin the battle for European qualification when they welcome Championship-bound Burnley.

The Whites have won eight of 11 at home against teams in sixth and below, while also tabling top honours in six of eight against the bottom-five this season. Whereas Burnley arrive in the capital having been beaten in 10 of 15 away from Turf Moor, conceding multiple goals in 12 of those tussles and leaking 2.33 goals per-game on average.

The Clarets are easily opposed here having lost the xG battle in 14 of those 15 games as guests and are rock-bottom of almost every available major metric. We can back Fulham off a -0.5 & -1.0 Asian Handicap start at 1.75 and make money should the Cottagers take all three points with a full stakes pay-out earned by a win of 2+ goals.

Aston Villa v West Ham: Improving Irons make betting appeal

Aston Villa's top-five position is under threat. Last week's pedestrian loss at Man Utd means Unai Emery's outfit have now posted just two triumphs in nine with the team giving away cheap goals and struggling to engineer consistent moments of promise in the final-third. The Villains now have Europa League duty to deal with on Thursday.

Villa Park - so long the side's fortress - has returned only two victories in seven of late with the hosts managing a solitary shutout in that sample, striking twice or more themselves only once. John McGinn's recent return was welcome, though the midfield is still badly missing the influence of Youri Tielemans and Boubacar Kamara.

In contrast, West Ham arrive in buoyant mood. The Hammers have enjoyed significant improvement in both boxes, contributing to just two defeats across their last 12 in all competitions. Defence has suddenly become a strength of Nuno Espirito Santo's side, whilst in-form Crysencio Summerville is close to a return ahead of Saturday's clash.

The Irons therefore appeal as underdogs. West Ham's only defeats in that 12-game run came at Chelsea (where the team led 2-0 at the break) and Liverpool (2-5) where the final score didn't reflect a largely positive performance. The visitors have also held both Manchester clubs in the past six weeks, highlighting their upward trajectory.
