But they have played a game more than second-placed Manchester City and, before last night's draw at the division's bottom club, were 3/10.

A week ago, before their draw at Brentford, Arsenal were 2/13 to win the league, so it has been a damaging seven days for their chances and that is reflected in the market.

City have been cut to 6/4 from 13/5 to win the Premier League. They were 5/1 prior to last midweek's 3-0 win over Fulham (and before Arsenal's draw at Brentford).

A dramatic night at Molineux saw Arsenal go 2-0 up in the second-half before Rob Edwards' team clawed their way back into the match.

Arsenal were leading 2-1 as the match went into added time which is why Betfair paid out bets on Arsenal for punters who had backed them using Match Odds 90 - the option that means your bet can't be ruined by added time goals.

For Arsenal, there was no such insurance, and Tom Edozie levelled for the hosts in the 96th minute meaning the match ended 2-2 and bettors who backed the draw in the regular Match Odds market were delighted.

The next round of Premier League action starts on Saturday and Arsenal travel to north London rivals Tottenham on Sunday for a derby of enormous significiance.
