According to Fabrice Hawkins, Presnel Kimpembe (28) has suffered a fresh injury blow in Paris Saint-Germain training during his preparations to be fit in time for the new Ligue 1 season.
Despite the France international suffering an injury, Les Parisiens are not worried about the 28-year-old’s recovery. No operation is planned for the injury and the setback is viewed as small in comparison to his previous injuries which have seen him sidelined for lengthy periods.
Since November 2022, Kimpembe has been out for over 600 days with separate Achilles tendon injuries. The Ligue 1 champions were hopeful that the centre-back would be able to make a return to action during preseason and be ready for the start of the new season but this is now not possible. Kimpembe is expected to miss Les Parisiens’ upcoming friendlies and potentially the opening match of the French top flight.
