Press review: France/Italy and PSG win over OH Leuven | OneFootball

This Friday, October 2, the French press (from a sporting perspective) discussed Paris Saint-Germain’s Women’s team after their 5-0 win over OH Leuven in the Champions League (Matchday 2) last night. The men’s match between France and Italy in the Nations League tonight at the Stade de France (kick-off at 8:45 p.m., broadcast on TF1) is also taking up a lot of space.

Le Parisien –

L’Equipe –

The Women’s team delivered a complete performance at Campus PSG and picked up a win that will do them a world of good. Those 5 goals scored could be invaluable for individual and collective confidence, as well as goal difference. They will need to keep moving in this direction, even if the upcoming European fixtures look more challenging.

Meanwhile, France hosts Italy tonight in a match steeped in history. But also with very real present-day stakes. There is this Nations League campaign, in which Les Bleus want to hold on to first place. As well as fierce competition within the squad. Désiré Doué is a good example, with points to score for the future as he looks to take advantage of Kylian Mbappé’s injury. That is if he does start, because that is not completely certain.

Hopefully, we will at least see Les Bleus confirm the promise they showed after 2 fairly encouraging matches. But Italy, in the middle of a rebuild, has regained some confidence after its 1-4 win in Turkey.
