Coach Thiago Motta, Khephren Thuram, Federico Gatti, Francisco Conceicao and Nico Gonzalez spoke to the press after Juventus’ 1-0 win against Inter on Matchday 25 of the Serie A season.

THIAGO MOTTA

“A great match in a special atmosphere: a deserved victory, and one that came about thanks to a great second half performance, which gives us confidence in our strengths. The fans must enjoy the victory, we on the other hand must immediately turn our attention to mentally and physically preparing for the game against PSV because we have the objective of progressing to the round of 16. We respected Inter for their great quality, but perhaps in the first half... we showed too much respect: so we conceded too much ground, while in the second half we came back much better. The path is the right one, and a performance of this level confirms that, our development was especially evident in the second half, in which we created a lot, and we were effective at being compact in all phases. Let's continue like this, with the help of everyone, even those who didn't play tonight: we really need everyone. [Andrea] Cambiaso? He returned to action very well, not only technically, but also in his communication with his teammates.”

KHEPHREN THURAM

“We are happy we managed to win again tonight, it was important because we were playing against a great team like Inter, so it gives us confidence for the upcoming games. Today I played in a slightly more defensive role because I was playing alongside [Weston] McKennie and [Teun] Koopmeiners, who like to make forward runs, but we are a team, and we have to know who we are playing with. I played with two players who are more attacking than me and so I dropped a bit further back. Playing against my brother? Very enjoyable, it was like playing in the garden of our house. He looks for me, I look for him, but it's a dream to face him in such an important game. I haven't sent him a message yet, but I know his ankle hurts a bit, that's why I think he didn't start the game. Dad? He was probably more nervous than us...”

FEDERICO GATTI

“I don't know if it is our most important victory to date, but it is a result that must give us that something extra, because we have thrown away too many points during the season. There is still a long way to go this season, but the points we have dropped definitely leave us with some regret. The season is long, at Juve you cannot be satisfied with fourth place. There are still many competitions to play in and we have to get to the top of all of them.”

FRANCISCO CONCEICAO

“Yes, it is an important victory, like so many others that we have to achieve. In this club you have to win every game, so we have to continue on this path. The goal? It was nice because it gave the team victory. You can see the unity of the group, and it's important to keep working like this, because we already have an important game in the Champions League that we have to win again. We have done our job. We know how important these games are for the fans, but also for us. We can always give something more and today we did that. We have to continue like this.”

NICO GONZALEZ

“We put in a great performance; it is a very important victory for us. We were much better in the second half, and we showed what we are capable of, and this is demonstrates progress. We are a young team but there are many mature men, and everyone knows what they have to do on the pitch, we showed that against a good team like Inter. At the moment we can't think about Napoli, and we have to forget about this evening, we have to say switched on: our focus is now only on PSV, because Wednesday will be a very important game. Our goal is to progress in the Champions League and book our place in the competition for next year.”
