The Women’s First Team continued pre-season in impressive style on Thursday evening, beating FC Puskas 5-1 in Biella after a stellar second-half showing. 

As well as coach Isaac Guerrero, defender Federica D’Auria spoke after the game.

“The compliments and kind words I’m receiving are thanks to the girls, and it’s thanks to them that we’re getting good results in pre-season - us staff can only accompany them and try to get the best out of their characteristics, their courage is putting things into practice on the pitch. We’re moving forward, building trust and trying new things. I’ll repeat again that the girls have been extraordinary, and it’s all their merit. I’m not a believer in the idea that you tire if you give too much early in the season; every week you work to maintain your physical state and the athletic side of things - it’s continuous work. We have a perfect mix here of young players, those with experience, and those who are growing.”

FEDERICA D'AURIA

“I’m really happy to be back here, and I’ve returned to an good environment where there’s a lot of good energy. There’s a new coach, a lot of new teammates, and the desire to play a new style of football and begin a new cycle. We’ve a lot of good ideas, we’re a cohesive group, and we want to help each other out and do our best for the team. Good performances now are important for the trust we have in each other, and to give the group belief. The coach has brought a new style of play with him and he’s spoken a lot about it, we’re working a lot to put his ideas into practice.”
