According to Nottingham Post, Manchester City have reached an agreement to sign Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest. The Reds are reported to be in line for a £116m up-front fee after rejecting two earlier offers.

The 23-year-old’s exit had long felt likely and it leaves a sizeable gap in Vitor Pereira’s XI. Forest, who paid a net £15m to Newcastle United in 2024, look set for a major profit.

A deal was struck on Thursday. Anderson is currently with England at the World Cup and is likely to keep his place for Saturday’s final group game against Panama, as a move to the Etihad Stadium nears.

Supporters voiced mixed emotions, praising his commitment and quality while accepting the sense of inevitability. Many thanked him for his contribution and called him among the club’s standout midfielders of recent years.

Attention has turned to recruitment, with fans urging swift, high‑calibre reinforcements and warning against waste. Some highlighted the size of the fee and said that, with such figures public, value in the market could be harder to find.
