Gianluca Prestianni criticised UEFA in a now-deleted social media post after the governing body rejected Benfica's appeal to field him against Real Madrid. According to Glorioso 1904, his reaction came shortly after the decision, with the match only hours away.

In the message, the Argentine voiced frustration at what he saw as disciplinary inconsistency and punishments without proof.

He also referred to the incident involving Federico Valverde and Samuel Dahl, and suggested Real Madrid were being favoured, calling the situation shameful.

Although his X account is not verified, it is followed by Benfica's official page, which boosted perceptions of authenticity. The same profile had previously commented on the late flashpoint in Lisbon. The post has since been removed.

Prestianni is serving a one-match provisional suspension after being accused by Vinícius Júnior of using a racist insult in the first leg at Estádio da Luz. Real Madrid won that game 1-0 through the Brazil international's goal on 50 minutes.

The controversy, which also involved Kylian Mbappé, has intensified the build-up to the European play-off second leg, scheduled for Wednesday at 20:00 in Madrid.
