Preston North End came back from two goals down to earn all three points at home to Sheffield United.
On a day in which Sheffield Wednesday went into administration, Blades fans were hoping to add their own joy on top of any schadenfreude they may have enjoyed.
It looked like that would be the case when the visitors were 2-0 up inside the first 16 minutes of the game.
The first goal came after Tyrese Campbell put in a through ball that gave Andre Brooks the freedom of Deep Dale to run forward and place the ball past Daniel Iversen.
Campbell provided the second goal as well as he laid the ball off to Callum O'Hare to give Chris Wilder's side a perfect start.
Preston did manage to reduce the deficit just before half-time when Lewis Dobbin received the ball on the edge of the area, shifted the ball on to his right for before an excellent strike found the net.
Paul Heckingbottom was looking to get one over his old team and he saw Preston equalise within a minute of the second half. It was a deep free-kick delivery that was headed on before Japhet Tanganga diverted the ball into his own net as he attempted to get it away from danger.
The turnaround was complete in the 58th minute. Andrija Vukcevic put in a fantastic delivery from the left that found Daniel Jebbison unmarked in the area and the Canadian's header had enough power to give Michael Cooper no chance.
That result sees Preston go into the play-off points as they sit fifth while Sheffield United are still just one point ahead of the drop zone.
