Charlton Athletic welcome West Bromwich to The Valley on Tuesday evening for Matchweek 14 of the EFL Championship.
The Addicks sit eighth in the table with 20 points after a 1-1 draw against Swansea City last time out, while Nathan Jones’ side will be keen to extend their four-match unbeaten run and continue their push towards the play-offs.
West Brom, meanwhile, travel south in search of a much-needed win. Ryan Mason’s men are winless in three and currently occupy 12th place with 18 points following a goalless stalemate against Sheffield Wednesday.
The last meeting between the sides ended in a 2-2 draw - and with both teams looking to build momentum, another tightly contested affair could be on the cards at The Valley.
Stuart Court (Cafc Facts and Stats): Back to the Valley for the first home league night of the season where Adrian Chiles and Frank Skinner will take residence in the away end amongst the other travelling Baggies.
For Charlton it’s a game where they will depleted in numbers after the injuries in defence to Bell and Burke. Manager Jones will have to assess what line up he will pick after the players gave their all from start to finish against a quality side in Swansea.
I can see changes in personnel and in formation also with a long trip to Wrexham this Saturday as well to think about before another international break.
I expect the attendance not to be as high as it has been recently and the actual numbers in the ground will be sparse however the atmosphere will be a good as ever which Russ Abbot will be proud of.
A tight game with Charlton taking the 3 points by the odd goal.
Prediction: 2-1
AllAlbionFans (AllAlbionFans): A disappointing result and performance against Sheffield Wednesday(H) on Saturday.
We went to top of the league Stoke City and won. We draw 0-0 at Home to bottom of the league. That’s the Championship and the gulf between every side isn’t massive.
The run of teams struggling at Home continues and hopefully that bodes well for us tonight. The Bookies have this one pretty even. Neither side scores or concedes many goals.
We have quite a few attacking players either injured or coming back so they can’t start three games in a week.
A few fans are a bit disgruntled at the moment. The results haven’t been a massive issue. A win here gets us back to 1.5 points-per-game which will get you in the Play Offs. Performances have lacked excitement but I’m a bit more patient than many. We have a new Manager with the large turnaround of players most wanted. A fifth person coaching the team in 11 months is not the answer.
The Addicks have only lost one home game. We haven’t drawn an Away game with 3 wins and 4 losses. I think we’ve done well if we leave the Capital with anything.
Prediction: 0-0
