Leeds United and Aston Villa clash this Sunday at the Elland Road for matchweek 12 of the Premier League. The match will be broadcast live at 14:00 on Sky Sports Main Event.
Leeds United have 11 points to their name this season and occupy 16th position in the table. Last time out, Daniel Farke's team slipped to a 3-1 defeat against Nottingham Forest (Premier League 2025/26).
Aston Villa have picked up 18 points and currently lie in 6th position. In their last match, Unai Emery's team prevailed 4-0 against Bournemouth (Premier League 2025/26).
The last meeting between the two teams ended with Aston Villa winning 2-1.
Sam (AllDayLUFC): Another let down against Forest has given Leeds fans a lot of time over the international break to judge the position were in.
The pressure is clearly now getting to Daniel Farke, with the German becoming more and more defensive over his position and pushing back to fans. Doesnt bode well.
Reports of him being given a run of games to show improvement and this one at home to Villa could be the last reasonable chance until mid-December to pick up points.
Farke needs a change and needs a spark. James and or Gnonto simply have to be involved over Aaronson if we have any hope.
Prediction: 0-2
Neil Dunworth (For The Love of Paul McGrath Villa Podcast): Villa come into this with a lot of players exhaling from a very good international break. Captain John McGinns Scotland reaching the World Cup is sure to have him return with a pep in his step, and as all Villans know, where Meatballs mood goes, the dressing room usually follows.
With that said, Villa need to bring their pre-break form into this game vs Leeds to keep their incredible charge up the table going. Their 4-0 bludgeoning of Bournemouth needs to be followed up with a victory at Elland Road if they are to break this concertina effect that the Premier League has from 4th place to 13th.
Leeds will be no pushovers, having brought some new faces seemingly from the land of the giants over the summer; their physical presence is something that Villa dont usually deal excellently with. Saying that, they are coming off a bad run of 1 win in 6.
Villa will be without Tyrone Mings and Andrés García, and while I mentioned the good about the international break, others sat out the second international fixture with niggles, namely Cash, Onana, Bogarde, and Konsa, and we will be keenly listening to Unai Emerys presser for updates the fitness of those key pieces.
Regardless of who is or isnt fit the obvious rings true, this will blow your mind, but whoever scores the most goals will win this one. Both teams have struggled to score at times this season, with Leeds averaging 0.9 goals per game and Villa 1.2 goals per game. However, recent weeks have shown that Villa have found something in an attacking sense, and they will be keen to keep this going this Sunday.
Ill plump for a Leeds 0-2 Villa but fully expect Leeds to have this game circled as one they feel they can bully Villa in and get a result from.
