Saturday night football comes from Anfield this weekend, where Liverpool welcome Aston Villa for Matchweek 10 of the Premier League season. Kick-off is at 20:00, with live coverage on TNT Sports 1.

Both sides are locked on 15 points and separated only by goal difference, setting up what should be a fascinating contest between two clubs with European ambitions.

Liverpool’s recent dip in form has raised a few eyebrows. Arne Slot’s men crashed out of the League Cup with a 3-0 defeat to Crystal Palace and are still searching for consistency in the league. Another loss would mark a fifth straight Premier League defeat - something the Reds have never experienced before.

Aston Villa arrive in strong spirits after edging past Manchester City 1-0 last weekend. Unai Emery’s side have quietly gathered momentum and now look every bit the side that caused so many problems for the league’s top teams last season.

The last meeting between the two ended 2-2, and with both attacks full of quality, this latest encounter could serve up another dramatic evening under the Anfield floodlights.

The Fan Zone

Neil Dunworth (For the Love of Paul McGrath ): Villa come into this game on the back of some good wins away at Spurs and at home to Man City.

Liverpool come into this game losing six of the last seven.

As a Villa fan you’d be forgiven for thinking you’ve seen this movie before. However there is a recent steeliness to a Villa team that started out of the traps like a distracted toddler with a full nappy.

Since September they have been more coherent and certainly more consistent going forward. Where they have lacked in goals from Ollie Watkins, goal are coming from other areas.

Villa will look to keep things tight and like other team lately they will look to expose the full back positions on the counter (it worked really well vs City).

Saying that Liverpool rested a lot of big guns in the week so they will be fresh and looking to stop a horrible run.

Villa would bite your hand off for a 1-1 away at Anfield and that’s what I am going with.

Prediction: 1-1
