Millwall and Coventry City go head-to-head at The New Den this Wednesday in the EFL Championship.
Millwall have 11 points to their name this season and occupy 10th position in the table. In their last game, Alex Neil's team drew 1-1 with Swansea City (EFL Championship 2025/26).
Coventry City have picked up 13 points and currently lie in 2nd position. In their last game, Frank Lampard's team won 3-0 against Birmingham City (EFL Championship 2025/26).
The last meeting between the two teams ended with Millwall winning 2-1.
Ross Cooper (SkyBlues Extra): Well a brilliant 3-0 West Midlands Derby victory over Birmingham City on the weekend has given us a brilliant start to this 3 game-week before the international break.
It was a comfortable and accomplished performance against Birmingham and should give the whole squad great confidence going into these next games.
Having a 3 game week is going to ask different questions of Lampard, the squad and selection as it is quite clear we have a small squad anyway, add to that injuries to Jack Rudoni and Ephron Mason-Clarke and already in some areas we look a little light.
It is going to be interesting to see how Frank looks at Millwall on Wednesday with a early 12.30 kick off on Saturday after meaning it is a very tight turnaround.
Millwall are the only side to have beaten us this season, that was in the League Cup and although we had a much changed side that night it highlights the difficulty and potential jeopardy in this game.
I think this game as all the ingredients to be the game in which we come unstuck in, as we are not going to remain unbeaten in the league all season, a defeat is inevitable and Millwall away is a tough game, they are well drilled, have a good manager at this level and will have a clear gameplan to try and stifle our clear attacking threat.
We have scored 18 goals in the league so far, our attacking fluidity is very strong and I think we are capable of scoring on Wednesday. Back to back clean sheets in our last two games is a big plus, albeit Birmingham offered very little challenge and I expect us to have to do more defending at The Den.
I think it will be a close game and I would be very happy to come away with a point.
Prediction: 1-1
