Preston North End and Sheffield Unitedface off at Deepdale this Friday in the EFL Championship, with kick-off scheduled for 20:00 on Sky Sports Football.

The two sides come into the match on the back of contrasting fortunes: Preston have lost their last two games, dropping out of the top six to 10th with 16 points, while Sheffield United have won back-to-back matches to move off the foot of the table and sit 21st with nine points.

Their most recent meeting saw Sheffield United claim a 1-0 victory.

The Fan Zone

PNEFC_Stats: After going 5 unbeaten Tuesdays loss vs Birmingham made it back to back defeats for Preston as a rejuvenated Sheffield United head to Deepdale.

With three games in seven days a number of changes are expected to freshen things up and look to return to winning ways.

Preston have been tough to beat at home under Paul Heckingbottom with only four defeats in 28 home games since the former Sheff Utd manager took over.

Preston are winless in the last eight vs Sheff Utd losing the last four.

Pol Valentin is still out with a hamstring injury as are Robbie Brady, Jordan Thompson, Will Keane and Brad Potts all of which haven’t played at all this season.

Prediction: 1-1

Theo (Allthingsblades): United have the pleasure of being the first Championship game of the weekend as they travel to Preston to face a familiar face in Paul Heckingbottom.

With the Blades winning two on the spin confidence will have taken a massive boost after the awful start to the season.

Despite recent success there Deepdale is never an easy place to travel to and Preston will make it a difficult game for United but I’m backing Chris Wilder to return to Sheffield with another three huge pointel’s and prove to the rest of the League that we mean business.

Prediction: 0-2
