Wrexham continue their push for the Championship play-offs as they host Portsmouth at the Racecourse Ground on Tuesday evening.
The Red Dragons have adapted well to life in the second tier, recording 13 wins, 12 draws and eight defeats so far, with 13 matches left to play this season.
Phil Parkinson’s side are chasing yet another promotion. Should they go up, Wrexham would become the first club in history to achieve four consecutive promotions.
Currently sitting sixth in the table, a win would strengthen their position in the play-off places. They head into the match in good spirits after an entertaining 5–3 home victory over Ipswich Town and are unbeaten in four of their last five games in all competitions.
Wrexham have also enjoyed recent success against Portsmouth at the Racecourse Ground, winning two of their last three home meetings.
However, the sides’ most recent encounter in North Wales came back in January 1983, when Pompey won 2–0. The reverse fixture at Fratton Park earlier this season finished goalless in November.
Parkinson will be without Ben Sheaf and Jay Rodriguez, both sidelined through injury.
Portsmouth arrive in North Wales in improved form, having secured back-to-back wins over Charlton and Millwall, beating the latter 3–1. Pompey have won three of their last five matches and currently sit six points above the relegation zone.
Manager John Mousinho faces a significant selection challenge due to several players being unavailable. Conor Chaplin, Josh Murphy, Keshi Anderson, Florian Bianchini, Franco Umeh and Thomas Waddingham are ruled out through injury, while Mark Kosznovszky, Conor Shaughnessy, Hayden Matthews, Josh Knight, Andre Dozzell and Aji Alese are also sidelined.
Kick-off at the Racecourse Ground is at 19:45 GMT, with the match broadcast live on Sky Sports Football.
