Prison terms sought for two OGC Nice ultras over violence against players | OneFootball

Two OGC Nice ultras could face jail after prosecutors sought one to two years over violence against the club’s players in November 2025. The Nice criminal court will deliver its verdict on 11 September.

According to L'Équipe, the pair are repeat offenders who held roles within the Populaire Sud group. They did not strike players that night and said they acted to calm tensions.

The incident followed Nice’s 3-1 defeat at Lorient. More than 200 supporters blocked the team bus at the training ground entrance. Known to club security, the two men were allowed aboard to tell players fans only wanted to talk.

Players then walked the last few metres. Most passed the barrier without trouble, but some suffered spitting, insults and violent shoving, with forwards Terem Moffi and Jérémie Boga particularly affected.

Moffi and Boga, along with the club, filed complaints the next day. Most of the 15 police present reported no punches, saying they would have intervened, and the two players showed no physical injuries, though they were psychologically affected.

Prosecutor Damien Martinelli said violence and humiliation were proven and described an ambush enabled by the defendants persuading players to leave the bus. He requested two years, including one year to serve, for Mohamed C., and two years in full with immediate committal for Anthony D., plus the revocation of a one-year suspended probation term from a previous football-related conviction. Defence lawyer Me Mathurin Lauze argued that, if there was violence, the real perpetrators have not been identified.
