Leeds United were linked with an offer to sign the midfielder on Monday
Leeds United have yet to lodge a formal bid to sign Noah Sadiki from Union St. Gilloise this summer.
According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, the Whites are yet to make a concrete offer to the Belgian side for the midfielder.
Daniel Farke is looking to bolster his options this summer ahead of the club’s return to the Premier League, having won the Championship title on their way to promotion.
Sadiki has spent the last two seasons with the Belgian Pro League side, and helped them come first and third in that time, making 56 appearances in the top flight.
It was reported on Monday by Sacha Tavolieri that a €10 (£8.5) million offer had been submitted for Sadiki.
It was also claimed that French side Lyon could also be in the mix for the midfielder.
However, it is now understood that no formal offer has yet been made, although that doesn’t mean there’s no interest in the player.
It’s believed Farke is looking to improve his midfield options ahead of their survival battle in the Premier League.
It has been reported that Habib Diarra is also on Leeds’ radar, with the Strasbourg player identified as a top flight calibre player.
The transfer window officially opened on Monday, and the Yorkshire outfit will discover their opening fixture of the new season on Wednesday.
In his two years with Union St. Gilloise, Sadiki has contributed one goal and three assists from 56 appearances in the Belgian Pro League.
The midfielder played 27 times during the 2023/24 campaign in which the team won their first league title in 90 years, and their 12th in total.
Sadiki grew in importance to the club over the last 12 months, starting 27 of his 29 games in the league for the team, having started on just 11 occasions the year prior.
Leeds have made one signing so far this summer, bringing in Lukas Nmecha as a free agent.
Sadiki has impressed during his time in Belgium, and has also earned some valuable experience playing in European competition as well.
If Leeds want to bolster their midfield, then a move for Sadiki around the £8.5 million mark could be a shrewd deal, if they could get it done.
While no formal bid has yet been made, it is still early days in the window and pre-season has yet to even get underway.
