Sunderland’s loanees are chasing promotion or fighting setbacks across Europe as the run-in begins.
Sunderland Echo rounds up January and summer departures across Ligue 1, the Championship and beyond.
Simon Adingra joined Monaco on loan in January, scoring three in 10 and featuring in both legs against Paris Saint-Germain. At Lens, Arthur Masuaku has two outings and was sent off during the warm-up before the Coupe de France quarter-final at Lyon. Timothee Pembele has seven appearances for Le Havre.
Anthony Patterson is Alex Neil’s first-choice at Millwall, with three clean sheets in seven. Dan Neil has 10 Ipswich appearances and there is speculation it could become permanent when his Sunderland deal expires. Leo Hjelde has five Championship games for Sheffield United, while Aji Alese sustained a serious groin injury after coming on in February’s 1-0 defeat to Preston North End.
Jenson Seelt has 10 games for Wolfsburg, though a knee injury and illness have checked his progress. Milan Aleksic has two assists in eight for Cracovia, while Nazariy Rusyn has four in 21 for Arka Gdynia. Luis Semedo has scored in draws with Estoril and Nacional for Morierense.
Alan Browne has played 33 times for Middlesbrough, with four goals and one assist. At Wycombe Wanderers, Niall Huggins has 20 appearances, seven as a starter. Zak Johnson has 20 for York City and scored in February’s 3-0 win at Wealdstone.
